Todd Henderson was born and raised in Amarillo, Texas. He attended Texas A&M University, and received his B.S. degree in political science. He then attended Texas Tech University School of Law, where he participated in activities such as moot court and mock trial. He also was active with a group of students in providing legal services to low-income individuals.

Todd began working at the Collin County District Attorney's Office in January of 2000. After starting out prosecuting misdemeanors such as DWI, drug possession, and assault family violence cases, he moved to felony, where he prosecuted everything from aggravated robbery and burglary, to murder. Todd served as an assistant district attorney under both Tom O' Connell and John Roach, and dealt with hundreds of criminal cases.

Todd left the District Attorney's office in early 2003 and began work as an associate with the firm of Baxter, Gibbs, & Robison. In addition to handling many criminal cases, Todd began representing clients in the area of real estate, homeowners' associations, deceptive trade practices claims, and other areas.

Todd and his wife, Melissa, have one child, Will, and live in McKinney.
